genus is tentatively included in the Lyoporinae because, although the syntypes are described as too recrystallized to show original microstructure, the Eurasian species placed in it have radially fibrous walls with small septal trabeculae, the inner ends of which may project as spines into the lumen. Corallum phaceloid, increase lateral; corallites cylindrical, slender; no known connecting processes; walls moderately thick; septa not observed in syntypes; tabulae with upturned edges and commonly complete, horizontal or gently sagging, rarely slightly domed.
